Whenever I have thought of Switzerland, I have always imagined a beautiful mountainous land, green and snowy, with cows. I wasn’t disappointed over the summer!
While there are always so many clichés about places you visit, few people ever share the details of the simple things like, how friendly the people were, how unbelievable amazing the treats at the bakeries were and how well organized everything is. If there was a place that once could actually taste the freshness of the food, it is Switzerland.
Hubby and I were attending his cousin’s wedding in Vevey and while there, we decided to spend some time touring the mountains and enjoying the scenery. Words cannot possibly explain or give proper credit to just how beautiful Switzerland is. I know that I am going on and on about it but, it is for good reason. No wonder the IOC, in their wisdom, set up their Museum in Switzerland. We paid a visit and were not disappointed, there was plenty of representation of the Kenyan spirit of athletics and we were both left very proud of the exploits of our athletics ambassadors.
We got to sample some Swiss cuisine, fondue and raclette, which was sinfully delicious. And no matter where we went to eat, we were left wanting more and observing that whatever it is we had just eaten was truly delicious. You could say that while we were there, we ate life with a big fork.
As for the wedding, it was truly spectacular and warm. The guests were family and close friends and there was therefore a lot of fun banter and laughter throughout. I wish the bride and groom happiness joy and laughter in their journey.
